What you’ll be able to do
The approved plan has reached the patient, or you know why it could not be delivered.
Before you start
- The plan is approved by a doctor.
- Your clinic's package includes patient deliveries, and you can send plans (admins, doctors and Planning Specialists can by default).
- The patient has a Medquote patient account, or an email address on the clinic record.
Send to patient marks the plan as sent
Once a doctor has approved the plan, Approval & sharing offers Send to patient. It changes the plan status to Sent to patient and locks the approved version, so later edits start a new version. It does not put the plan in the patient's account and does not email anything, even though its confirmation says the plan was sent.
- Open the approved plan and check that the approved version and amounts are the ones you mean to give the patient.
- Choose Send to patient when your clinic wants to record that the plan has gone out.
- Check that the status reads Sent to patient. Then use Share with patient to deliver it.
Questions & answers
The plan says Sent to patient, but the patient cannot see it. What should I check?
Sent to patient is only a status. Check whether Share with patient was used and what its confirmation said, then check that the patient's account is linked to this record or that the record has the right email address.
Will sharing always email the patient?
No. A patient with a Medquote account finds the plan in their account. Only a patient without an account receives the plan as an emailed link, and only if the record has an email address.
Open a plan in your clinic workspace
Sign in through your clinic’s workspace address, then open the patient record and the intended plan. Ask your clinic administrator for the workspace address or permission if needed.
